In a social media post on 8 June 2026, military analyst Shin (Sh1n.org) countered warnings about an imminent IRGC missile campaign against Israeli desalination plants by explaining the operational vulnerability of medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) launchers.

Shin wrote: "MRBMs have poor circular error probable (CEP), which means lower precision. How can they hit what they want? By firing large barrages. Meanwhile, electronic warfare and command (EW&C) systems and aircraft detect these launchers, and the air force targets them, resulting in dead launchers, small or no barrages, and consequently no damage."

The commentary was a response to a post by Welmaxx, who had stated:

"IRGC will start targeting desalination plants in Israel soon"

Shin's argument highlights that MRBMs with insufficient accuracy require massed volleys to achieve target effect. However, modern EW&C assets combined with airpower can locate and destroy launchers before they can fire a large enough barrage, rendering the threat ineffective.
