Sanaa airport in Yemen was hit by an airstrike on July 13, 2026, with smoke observed rising from the vicinity. IRGC-backed Houthi officials confirmed the strike. An IRGC-affiliated Mahan Air aircraft, an Airbus A340 (registration EP-MMC, ICAO hex 7335A3, callsign IRM1199), was approaching Sanaa airport at the time. The aircraft missed its approach and diverted to Al Hudaydah airport, where it landed safely. Alleged video from the scene in Sanaa was circulated.
