Sh1n reposted a report by @manniefabian stating that the Israel Defense Forces announced the death of Maher Walid Omar al-Husseini in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip earlier this week.

According to the IDF, Wednesday's strike killed al-Husseini, the commander of a Nukhba Force cell in Hamas's military wing. The military said he participated in the attack on the Re'im base on October 7, 2023.

The IDF also said al-Husseini had recently been advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and attempting to restore Hamas's capabilities, describing those actions as:

"in systematic violation of the ceasefire."
