בפוסט ב-X, אנליסט ה-OSINT @DefenceGeek דיווח כי בשעות הערב המאוחרות של ה-29 ביולי 2026, שני מפציצי B-1B לנסר מ-RAF פיירפורד (EGVA) יצאו לגיחת אימון מול החוף הדרום-מערבי של בריטניה כ-LANE90 ו-LANE91, בגיבוי מכלית יחידה CLEAN71 מ-RAF מילדנהול (EGUN).
B-1 Bomber Training Sortie for Gibraltar Route #IranWar
Late yesterday evening, 2x B-1B "Lancer" bombers from RAF Fairford (EGVA) departed on a short training sortie off the south-west coast of the UK as "LANE90/91", supported by a single tanker from RAF Mildenhall (EGUN) as "CLEAN71".
They then returned to Fairford likely for a crew change, before departing again at around 01:45L as "HARPO40/41" and flew out to meet 3 tankers from Lajes Airport (LPLA) flying as "CLEAN91/92/93".
On the map below, I've plotted the flightpath of the 3x KC-46A "Pegasus" tankers from Lajes, showing the route that they flew. This training sortie appears to have been a practice run for if the bombers get denied overflight of France and have to travel to Iran via a crossing at Gibraltar (something they had to do a few times during #OperationEpicFury).
After completing their refuelling practice, both bombers returned to RAF Fairford at around 04:15L, and the 3 tankers returned to Lajes.
