The U.S. Central Command announced on July 12 that it had completed a new wave of strikes against Iran. The statement, posted by CENTCOM’s official Persian-language account and retweeted by Sh1n, declared:
CENTCOM Completes Another Wave of Attacks Against Iran
Tampa, Florida – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a new wave of offensive attacks against Iran on July 12, striking dozens of targets at multiple locations with precision munitions to reduce Iran's ability to continue attacking international vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
For the first time, CENTCOM forces used fighter aircraft, naval vessels, one-way attack drones, and one-way naval attack drones to attack Iran's military air defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global commerce. Iran does not control it.
U.S. forces are in position and ready to ensure freedom of navigation for commercial vessels remains available despite Iran's continued aggression, harassment, threats, and arbitrary declarations.
