Tangsiri held several key positions in the IRGC Navy over the years, supervising the regime's terrorist activities and coordinating among Iranian military forces in the Persian Gulf region. He was responsible for attacks on oil tankers and commercial ships, directly threatening freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and international waters. During Operation 'Roar of Lions', Tangsiri played a leading role in closing the Strait of Hormuz and advancing terrorist activities at sea, disrupting the global economy. He was also under international sanctions for involvement in terrorist schemes against ships and for transferring air defense systems and drones to Russia and Syria. Along with Tangsiri, Behnam Rezaei, the intelligence deputy of the IRGC Navy, was also eliminated. Rezaei headed the Navy's intelligence section and was known as a key source of naval intelligence, active in gathering intelligence about regional countries and directing cooperation with various intelligence agencies.
