  • Reported loss in value over the past week: 14.35%

The update followed a September 29 post reporting an earlier record low of 2,539,000 rials (253,900 tomans) per U.S. dollar. At that time, the rial was reported to have lost 3.7% since the previous day, 9.11% over the preceding week, and more than 63.17% over six months.
