Sh1n reposted the following September 16 update from @DefenceGeek, which noted that tanker numbers within CENTCOM remained steady while deployments at bases outside the command declined:

As I've noted over the last few days, there has been a significant number of tankers depart Europe heading back to the US mainland, mostly aircraft that only arrived in July or August. While the number in CENTCOM remains steady, this means the "orange/green" bases have seen a significant reduction in overall numbers - 23 less aircraft than on my last update on 11th September. This seems to suggest a partial draw-down of supporting forces outside CENTCOM, or a re-direction of assets for other needs.
