A B-52H Stratofortress bomber task force mission out of Minot AFB (KMIB) to South America was aborted in-flight on 10 August 2026 after one or more supporting tanker aircraft experienced issues. The sortie, planned to include formation flights and photos with aircraft from Chile and Argentina, was expected to last approximately 29 hours. Open-source intelligence (OSINT) sources have mapped the intended route and the supporting tankers’ flight plans. The mission is likely to be reattempted in the coming days.
