Sh1n reposted an update from DefenceGeek tracking movements of the USAF KC-135 and KC-46 tanker fleets.

DefenceGeek reported:

As of this morning, we're now at 17 tankers returned to Europe, and 3 more moved from US west coast to east coast in preparation to cross.

That's just in the last 48-72hrs.

Most of the airframes are ones that left in September...

The update followed DefenceGeek’s October 10 assessment that tanker numbers in Europe had previously fallen while the number in CENTCOM remained relatively steady at approximately 100. At that point, the account had recorded 11 tanker returns to European bases within 36 hours.

Citing news that President Donald Trump’s administration was considering new strikes around the midterm elections, DefenceGeek assessed that the tanker movements could indicate preparations for further combat operations. The account added that fast jets and ISTAR platforms remained in place.
