The IDF said a strike in Gaza City on Tuesday killed Muhammad Jamal Mahmoud Abu Al-Shaar, whom it identified as a cell commander in Hamas's military wing.

According to the military, Abu Al-Shaar entered Kibbutz Be'eri during the attack and participated in the abduction of Sharon Hertzman-Avigdori, Noam Avigdori, Adi Shoham, Nave Shoham, Yahel Shoham, and Shoshan Haran.

In a separate strike in Jabalia on Tuesday, the IDF said it killed Musab Abd al-Jalil Saqib Balbisi, identified as a commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The military also accused Balbisi of entering Israel during the October 7 attack.

The IDF said both men had recently been involved in advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians:

"in systematic violation of the ceasefire"

The military said they were killed:

"to remove the threat that they posed"
