The IDF said a September 16 strike in Gaza City killed Saeed Asaad Saeed Akrim, whom it identified as a commander in Hamas's Daraj-Tuffah Battalion. According to the military, Akrim had been involved in placing explosive devices and advancing other attacks against Israeli troops.

The military said two separate strikes on September 15 in northern Gaza killed Nimer Yasser Nimer Arshi, whom it identified as a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket-launching operative in the Daraj-Tuffah area, and Ahmad Baza'at Saleh Shaer, whom it identified as a member of Hamas's Shejaiya Battalion who planted explosive devices.
