Iran's regime-affiliated Entekhab News reported on June 29, 2026, that the deputy of the Supreme Leader's representative office in the IRGC Navy died in a road accident. The statement read:

Deputy of the Velayat-e Faqih (Supreme Leader) Representative Office in the IRGC Navy, died a few hours ago in a road accident after his vehicle overturned on a road in Kerman Province.

The deceased has been identified as Rear Admiral Mohammad Akbarzadeh.
