Sh1n (@hey_itsmyturn) reposted an aircraft-tracking report from @DefenceGeek about KC-46A tankers departing Pease (KPSM).
According to @DefenceGeek, tankers from several U.S. bases had moved to Pease just over a week earlier, prompting speculation that they could be preparing for a possible bomber mission to Iran. Several were subsequently observed returning to their home sites, some using a Bomb Mission Code and others using different mission codes:
- KC-46A "REACH227" — 17-46036 — #AE5E11
- KC-46A "REACH679" — 19-46063 — #AE5FAA
- KC-46A "SKATER77" — 23-46120 — #AF9E2A
- KC-46A "SKATER78" — 23-46117 — #AFEAD2
- KC-46A "SKATER79" — 17-46032 — #AE5E0D
- KC-46A "SKATER80" — 18-46039 — #AE5F92
@DefenceGeek cautioned that the movements may not have been connected to Iran:
It's entirely possible these were not for Iran and were for the STRATCOM exercise that is ongoing, but they do not appear to have taken part in any case.
