U.S. Central Command announced that its forces intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces in Kuwait late Sunday night. The incident occurred at 11 p.m. Eastern Time and resulted in no U.S. casualties.

In a statement posted to X, CENTCOM wrote:

Last night at 11 p.m. ET, U.S. forces successfully intercepted two Iranian ballistic missile targeting American forces based in Kuwait. These missiles were immediately defeated and no American personnel were harmed.

The command added that it "remains vigilant" and will continue to protect U.S. personnel in the region. The interception marks a significant escalation in Iranian military activity directed at U.S. forces overseas.
