Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-owned Tasnim News agency issued a statement on May 29, 2026, denying that a final agreement had been concluded with the United States, and sharply dismissing recent declarations by President Donald Trump.

In a report, Tasnim News wrote:

"No final agreement has been reached between Iran and the United States at this time.

According to Tasnim News Agency’s reporter, no final agreement has been concluded between Iran and the United States so far. President Trump's tweet aligns with his consistent pattern of unilateral and self-aggrandizing pronouncements.

Donald Trump's statements concerning the lifting of the naval blockade on Iran, emanating from the head of the terrorist U.S. administration, should be viewed with skepticism. Should such an action materialize, it would merely signify the cessation of one of numerous ceasefire violations, given that such a blockade should never have been initiated.

Furthermore, Trump's assertions and those of American media outlets regarding the nuclear issue are unfounded, as no detailed discussions on nuclear matters are currently taking place in this area.

The U.S. President's insistence on not releasing Iran's blocked funds solely intensifies Iran's suspicion regarding the seriousness of the United States.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized that the status of its blocked assets must be clarified prior to any preliminary agreement."

The statement was issued shortly after President Trump posted on X, writing in part: "Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions. All water mines (bombs), if any, will be terminated…".
