On the afternoon of July 3, 2026, a Saudi delegation and a Houthi delegation appeared in Tehran to pay respects at the funeral of the former dictator of Iran, Ali Khamenei.

Earlier that day, Houthi/Yemeni channels claimed Saudi aerial pressure around Sanaa airport to prevent departures. Despite these claims, the Houthis made it to the funeral via a Mahan Air flight.

In the early hours of July 3 (02:22Z), IRGC-affiliated Mahan Air's A340 (EP-MJF | 733546 | callsign W51199) landed safely at Houthi-controlled Sana'a International Airport.

At approximately 03:30Z, Yemeni channels posted videos of jet and anti-aircraft activity over Sanaa. Several jets, claimed to be from the Royal Saudi Air Force (#RSAF), were spotted but did nothing and returned to base without preventing the Houthi delegation from departing for Khamenei's funeral, even as the Saudi delegation was doing the same in Tehran.

At around 05:30Z, the Houthi delegation left Sanaa airport aboard the same Mahan Air A340 (new callsign IRM1198 / W51198) and reached Tehran without incident.

The author asks: "Was all that RSAF 'jet activity' over Sana'a a show? You be the judge."
