The IDF stated: "Together with the commander of the Basij unit, the IDF eliminated the head of the intelligence department of the Basij unit in Tehran. The Air Force, with precise guidance from Military Intelligence, attacked the senior leadership of the Basij unit in the heart of Tehran earlier this week, eliminating the unit commander, Gholam Reza Soleimani, and several other senior commanders. The IDF now confirms that Ismail Ahmadi, who served as the head of the intelligence department in the Basij unit, was eliminated in this attack. In his role, Ahmadi played a central part in promoting and carrying out terror activities conducted by Basij forces, and was also responsible for enforcing public order and the regime's values on behalf of the Revolutionary Guard. During the internal protests in Iran, and especially recently with their intensification, Ahmadi played a central role in leading key suppression operations using severe violence, widespread arrests, and the use of force against civilian protesters. His elimination, together with the elimination of the unit commander, adds to the dozens of senior commanders from the armed forces of the Iranian terror regime who have been eliminated throughout the operation, further deepening the blow to the regime's security command and control systems. The IDF will continue to operate forcefully against the commanders of the Iranian terror regime."
