The Israel Defense Forces stated:

"As part of the ongoing strike against the Iranian terror regime's nuclear program: The IDF attacked a unique facility in Iran that served to produce raw materials required for the uranium enrichment process.

The Air Force, with precise intelligence guidance, attacked a short time ago a uranium extraction facility from mines located in Yazd in central Iran.

The facility is the only one of its kind in Iran, where raw materials mined from the ground undergo mechanical and chemical processing in order to later serve as source materials for uranium enrichment.

This is a crucial process for the nuclear weapons program being advanced by the regime, and constitutes the beginning of the value chain required for nuclear weapons production.

The strikes were directed at the central infrastructure serving the unique production processes at the site.

Enriched uranium constitutes a central and critical component in nuclear weapons development processes - striking the site detracts from the Iranian terror regime's ability to obtain the raw material needed for these processes and deepens the damage to the regime's nuclear weapons program.

The IDF will not allow the Iranian terror regime to continue its attempts to advance the nuclear weapons program that poses an existential threat to the State of Israel and the entire world."
