The IDF continues to strike the Basij organization of the Iranian terror regime.
Throughout Operation 'Lion's Roar,' the IDF has maintained a systematic and ongoing effort to degrade the capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Basij unit. As part of this campaign, hundreds of headquarters and command-and-control centers have been destroyed across Iran, specifically within Tehran.
Over recent weeks, the IDF has acted methodically against the unit's primary command centers. Following these strikes, intelligence identified that forces had transitioned to operating from alternative headquarters, which were subsequently targeted as well. In the wake of these repeated strikes, a redeployment of Basij forces was detected, with personnel operating from positions established within public spaces in the heart of Tehran.
Following this identification, the Israeli Air Force—guided by precise intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate and in coordination with the Operations Directorate—targeted Basij personnel operating at more than 10 different positions throughout Tehran in recent hours.
Among the targets was a Basij and IRGC emergency post located within a former football club. This specific strike illustrates the depth of the damage to the regime's infrastructure and highlights its operational method: the deliberate and cynical use of civilian populations as shields for the regime's activities.
These recent strikes, alongside the elimination of the unit's commander, Gholamreza Soleimani, inflict deep and lasting damage on the capabilities of the Basij unit.
In addition to serving as a branch of the regime's armed forces, the Basij has for years been responsible for executing terrorist plots, while simultaneously leading the violent suppression of Iranian citizens during internal protests.
