The IDF announced: "After rehabilitation attempts were identified: Air Force attacked the heavy water facility in Arak - key infrastructure for plutonium production for nuclear weapons. The Air Force, with precise intelligence guidance, attacked a short time ago the heavy water facility in Arak in central Iran. Heavy water is a unique material used to operate nuclear reactors such as the inactive reactor in Arak, which was originally designed to have military-grade plutonium production capability. These materials also serve as material for producing neutron sources for nuclear weapons. Additionally, the facility constituted a significant economic asset for the terror regime and served as a source of income for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization. Its operation generated tens of millions of dollars annually for the regime. Despite explicit international commitments, primarily the nuclear agreement, the Iranian terror regime systematically refrained from converting the reactor so that it would not enable military-grade plutonium production and even deliberately ordered not to complete the conversion. The facility was attacked during Operation 'Roaring Lion,' and afterwards repeated rehabilitation attempts by the Iranian terror regime at the site were identified. Therefore, the IDF has now attacked the facility once again."
