U.S. Central Command rejected an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps general’s reported claim that Iran had closed and taken full control of the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM stated:

🚫 CLAIM: Earlier today, a general from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed in media reports that "the Strait of Hormuz is closed" and his country has "full control over it." This is FALSE.

CENTCOM said traffic is currently flowing through the strait and that the United States and its regional partners control it.
