Major General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, said the Joint Forces Command had determined that the Houthis were using civilian infrastructure and fuel resources to support military operations.

Al-Maliki’s statement identified the central Al-Sabaha station in Sanaa, underground reserve fuel depots, fuel tanks, and docks used to transport and unload fuel in Hodeidah, Sanaa, and Dhamar. It alleged that these facilities supplied Houthi missile and drone capabilities threatening Saudi Arabia, airports, ports, and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The spokesperson said the operation focused on neutralizing capabilities used to threaten Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the southern Red Sea, and regional waterways. He added that coalition forces had taken precautions to limit incidental civilian harm and damage in accordance with international humanitarian law.

Al-Maliki concluded:

The Houthis must immediately stop all terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian objects, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and infrastructure.
