Sh1n reposted a report by @manniefabian stating that the IDF and Shin Bet announced the death of Jamal Abu Saeed in a strike in Gaza City on Sunday.

According to the IDF, Abu Saeed was chief of operations in Hamas's military intelligence and held Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov during the war. The joint statement said:

"During the war, Abu Saeed held Omer Shem Tov captive in Hamas captivity,"

The military said Abu Saeed previously oversaw the training of Hamas operatives outside the Gaza Strip, served as an anti-tank battalion commander and was "responsible for military specialization in Hamas' Central Brigade."

The IDF also said he was "responsible for Hamas's relations with various countries" and "served as a significant source of knowledge for the terror organization."

According to the IDF, Abu Saeed had recently worked to advance attacks against troops and Israeli civilians and to restore Hamas's capabilities, acting "in systematic violation of the ceasefire."
